My Window Faces the South, Part 1: Chord-Melody Solo

First recorded by Fats Waller in 1937 (and sometimes mistakenly attributed to him), “My Window Faces the South” was composed by Jerry Livingston, Mitchell Parish, and Abner Silver. Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys released a hot version about a year later, and the song became a standard in the western-swing repertory. Matt sings the song and then walks you through a chord-melody version, along with a few variations to try.
