Open-Position Scales, Part 2: “Wabash Cannonball”

In this video, Stash shows you how to play the old-time country song “Wabash Cannonball” in all five open positions. He starts in the key of G, and then shows you how to find the melody by singing the notes and finding them on the guitar. Once you’ve done that, you can find the melody in other positions and keys by defining the scale degrees of the melody and using that information to move the melody to different keys. He also talks about using the capo to play in different open positions while staying in the same key.
