To illustrate position 2E, Stash moves the position to the key of F#, where the fret numbers correspond to finger numbers, so a note played on the first fret is played by the first finger, a note on the second fret is played with the second finger, etc. Then he moves the pattern up to the key of G, and shows you how to move the pattern up to the keys of A, B, and C.
