Maiden’s Prayer, Part 1: Melody |
“Maiden’s Prayer” was originally written by a Polish composer in the mid-nineteenth century. Bob Wills heard it and transformed it into a western swing fiddle tune. He first recorded it in 1938 and it became one of his signature pieces. He recorded it again in 1941, with lyrics sung by Tommy Duncan, and it went to #1 in Billboard magazine’s “Hillbilly and Foreign Records of the Month.” In this video, Chad shows you the melody with double stops.
