Pentatonic Scale Patterns: Week Two |
In this week, Ethan looks at the pentatonic scale of the mode of the fifth of each scale. For Eb, that’s the Bb major pentatonic scale and for Dm, that’s the A minor pentatonic scale. If you play the Bb major pentatonic scale against the Ebmaj7 chord, you get the fifth, 13th, major seventh, ninth, and third of Eb, and if you play the A minor pentatonic scale against the Dm7 chord you get the fifth, seventh, root, ninth, and 11th of D minor. As with the other scales, Ethan shows you the basic scale and then a four-note scale pattern using each scale.
