Left-hand slurs like hammer-ons and pull-offs are great articulations to add to your playing, and practicing them can strengthen your fretting hand. In the first week, Ethan talks about being rhythmic with your left hand and thinking about how and when you place your fingers on the fretboard. He starts by giving you some basic instruction on how to physically play hammer-ons and pull-offs, and then gives you some exercises playing a G major scale with hammer-ons going up the scale and pull-offs coming down the scale. He also shows you how to play triplets with hammer-ons and pull-offs. You’ll do all the slurs on downstrokes.
