Say Darlin’ Say, Part 1: Double-C Tuning
So far, you’ve learned tunes in G tuning and G modal tuning. In this lesson you’ll learn to play the old-time favorite “Say Darlin’ Say” in a new tuning: double-C tuning. Evie starts by showing you how to get into double-C tuning. From G tuning you’ll lower the D (fourth) string a whole step to C, and raise your B (second string) a half step to C. She also shows you how to play the 1, 4, and 5 chords in double-C tuning (C, F, and G), and plays a simple bum-ditty pattern with these chords so you can get used to fingering them. Then you’ll learn the major scale in this tuning: C major.
