Talented guitarist and songwriter Verlon Thompson toured, recorded, and wrote songs with Guy Clark for years. In this video from a performance at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, North Carolina, in 2013, Verlon tells the story of how Guy gave him a Bourgeois Ricky Skaggs model guitar. He then plays a great version of the song “The Guitar,” which he co-wrote with Guy.
