Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings: “Sittin’ On Top of the World” | Preston Thompson Guitars

The two powerhouses play The Mississippi Sheiks song live at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival.
October 29, 2019

Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings are two of the brightest rising stars in today’s acoustic music scene. In 2017, Molly was the first woman to win the IBMA Guitar Player of the Year award, and her latest album, When You’re Ready, was released in 2019 to both critical and popular acclaim. Billy Strings took the 2019 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year award, along with the IBMA New Artist of the Year award, and has been playing larger and larger venues world-wide over the past few years.

Both Molly and Billy were in the lineup for last summer’s Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, which made for a great opportunity for collaboration. In this video, they play the Mississippi Sheik’s hit “Sittin’ On Top of the World.” Both artists were playing their custom Preston Thompson guitars.
