The guitarist plays an extended version of an original tune from his debut solo album, with mandolinist Maddie Witler and bassist Max Johnson.

Chris Luquette is the guitarist in the Grammy-nominated band Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, and the multi-instrumentalist routinely plays gigs under his own name as well. He has just released his first solo album, called The Way I View the World, a collection of original tunes and songs, as well as covers of some of Chris’s favorite traditional and modern songs.

Chris was on tour in California on his album-release day, performing as a trio with Maddie Witler (Lonely Heartstring Band) on mandolin, and jazz and bluegrass bassist Max Johnson. They stopped by the Peghead Nation studio in between gigs to play a few songs from Chris’s debut album, including this smokin’ version of the album’s lead-off track, “Union Valley.”

Chris is playing one of his signature model Preston Thompson guitars.
