Jake Howard and Grant Flick: “Morning Breaks” | Northfield Mandolins
An instrumental duet played on a pair of Northfield Archtop and Flattop Octave Mandolins.
Octave mandolins are fairly common in accompaniment roles, but we don’t often get to hear a duet played on the instruments. But in this video, Jake Howard and Grant Flick recorded “Morning Breaks,” which features Jake on a Northfield Archtop Octave Mandolin and Grant on a Northfield flattop model, creating an ideal showcase to demonstrate each instrument’s tonal character.
Check out Peghead Nation instructor Joe K. Walsh’s demo of his Northfield Archtop Octave Mandolin, and his Octave Mandolin course.
