Eric Skye: “Blue Monk” | Santa Cruz Guitars

Eric Skye performs a fingerstyle arrangement of the Thelonious Monk standard.

Portland, Oregon-based guitarist Eric Skye is well-known for his arrangements of jazz and folk tunes. Eric also has a long relationship with the Santa Cruz Guitars, and his 00-SKYE signature model, a 12-fret 00 built with cocobolo and spruce, is one of the company’s most popular instruments. Eric recently visited the Santa Cruz shop to have one of his personal 00-SKYEs refretted with stainless steel frets, and while there, he shot this video of his arrangement of Thelonious Monk’s jazz standard “Blue Monk.”
