Chris Eldridge: ”Church Street Blues” | Collings Guitar

Critter plays a solo version of the Norman Blake classic, live at the Collings Guitars’ IBMA Bluegrass Ramble showcase in Raleigh, North Carolina.

November 20, 2018

Chris “Critter” Eldridge is widely recognized as one of the finest contemporary bluegrass guitarists around, and is heard by millions each weekend in his role as guitarist in the house band for NPR’s Live From Here With Chris Thile. He also plays with Thile in Punch Brothers, and has released two beautiful duo albums with the jazz guitarist Julian Lage.

With all of these projects and others in the works, we were thrilled that Critter agreed to perform solo during Collings Guitars’ showcase at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s annual Bluegrass Ramble in Raleigh, North Carolina, this fall. Held at the Pour House Music Hall, the showcase also included Kenny and Amanda Smith and the Austin-based band Wood & Wire.

In this video, Critter plays a great version of the classic Norman Blake song “Church Street Blues.”
