Benjamin Scheuer is a guitarist, songwriter, performer, and children’s book author. His play, A Mountain for Elodie (directed by Olivier Award-winner Polly Findlay), premiered at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and The Lion won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, and an Off-West End Award for Best New Musical. The Lion toured the United States, and Scheuer performed the show over 500 times. Filmed at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, it is now streaming on BroadwayHD.com.

In this video, Benjamin performs his song “See My Heroes,” which is also featured in A Mountain for Elodie. About the song, Benjamin says, “I talk directly to my guitar playing hero, Eddie Van Halen, who died of an illness that I managed to survive: cancer. My dad introduced me to Van Halen when I was a kid; Eddie’s death made my father’s death come roaring back to me.”
