Northfield's Derek Smith introduces the re-launch of the affordable Calhoun mandolin.

Northfield’s Calhoun model was originally introduced in 2020. With its flattop design, it was conceived as a student instrument, and it became an instant success (check out this video of Sharon Gilchrist demoing the original Calhoun in the Peghead Nation studio!). Northfield is now re-launching the Calhoun with some updated features, including two finish options, ebony fingerboards and bridges, an elevated pickguard, and more. In this video, Northfield’s Derek Smith introduces and plays the new Calhoun 2.0.
