AEG-1 Acoustic-Electric Guitar | L.R. Baggs

L.R. Baggs releases a completely new guitar that includes its HiFi Duet pickup system.

Acoustic amplification experts L.R. Baggs is releasing its first guitar. In doing so, the company is reaching back to its founder Lloyd Baggs’ background as a luthier, who built instruments for artists such as Ry Cooder, Janis Ian, Jackson Browne, and others prior to specializing in acoustic pickups. Taking advantage of Lloyd’s extensive expertise, the new AEG-1 ($1,599) uses a patent-pending integrated neck support system that allows the guitar to produce full acoustic sound despite its thin-body construction. Available with torrefied Sitka spruce, natural Engelmann spruce, or sunburst Sitka spruce tops, the AEG-1 is built with an Indian rosewood back and laminated poplar back and sides. The guitar features L.R. Baggs’ HiFi Duet pickup and internal microphone combination with custom control panel. In this video, guitarist Trey Hensley demos the instrument.
