The Martin D-200 Deluxe
To celebrate their two-millionth guitar since 1833, C.F. Martin & Co. introduces the spectacular D-200 Deluxe limited edition.
After 184 years and in celebration of our two-millionth serial number milestone, C. F. Martin & Co. is proud to introduce the D-200 Deluxe. Built with Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a highly-figured Engelmann spruce top, the D-200 is intricately designed in collaboration with renowned watchmaker Roland G. Murphy (RGM) to symbolize the passage of time.
As this video shows, the back of the D-200 is inlaid with spectacular watch gears cut from reconstituted stone, mother-of-pearl, bloodwood, Hawaiian koa, and ebony. The equally spectacular soundboard inlays feature a minute track in mother-of-pearl, birdseye maple, flamed Hawaiian koa and ebony, and a pickguard with pearl inlaid watch gears. Another crowning feature is an aluminum rosette with guilloché engraving – a refined process of cutting geometric patterns into metal that also appears on the stainless steel tuning machine buttons of the edition.
Martin Guitar will build just 50 of these beautiful, playable instruments, and each will come with a wearable RGM watch that carries design elements from the D-200.
