Join us at Wintergrass 2024

Peghead Nation will be on hand in Bellevue, Washington, February 22 - 25 for a weekend full of performances, workshops, jamming, and fun!

The four-day Wintergrass Music Festival is happening this year, February 22 – 25, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency and Westin in Bellvue, Washington. Peghead Nation is proud to sponsor the extensive Workshop program at the Festival, and we’re looking forward to a fun weekend of music, with great performances from an impressive lineup of old-time, bluegrass, and roots musicians, instructional workshops and intensives, and jamming.

This year’s lineup of performers includes several Peghead Nation instructors. Joe K. Walsh will be on hand as part of Mr Sun, and John Reischman will play with his band Old Acoustic (with Trent Freeman, Max Schwartz, and Bryan McDowell), and guest with Pharis and Jason Romero. Peghead Nation guitar and ukulele instructors Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer are performing in their trio with classical hammered dulcimer player Chao Tian, for their show “From China to Appalachia,” celebrating roots music from multiple cultures. Fiddling master Brittany Haas will be playing with the power combination of her band Hawktail and the Swedish ensemble Väsen. And Peghead Nation mandolin instructor Sharon Gilchrist will be at Wintergrass, teaching a workshop and no doubt playing in multiple configurations. Also performing are Tim O’Brien, Mighty Poplar, Hot Buttered Rum, and many more.

In addition to the concerts, Wintergrass also features dozens of instruction Workshops as well as Wintergrass Intensives, which allow intermediate-to-advanced students to study with some of today’s most sought-after instructors and performers. John Reischman and Marcy Marxer will teach intensives, and Joe K. Walsh, Cathy Fink, Marcy Marxer, Sharon Gilchrist are all teaching workshops throughout the weekend, so you have a great chance to supplement your learning in their Peghead Nation courses with an in-person session.
