Watch Evie Ladin’s Workshop, Jam Essentials: Back-up, Speed Tuning, and More!
Learn skills you need to join jams in many different styles on clawhammer banjo, with tips on playing accompaniment, getting into tune quickly, and more.
Our Clawhammer Banjo instructor Evie Ladin recently hosted a live Zoom workshop called “Jam Essentials: Back-Up, Speed Tuning, and More.” You can watch the video from this workshop above.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the same songs in different tunings, getting used to moving quickly so you can more easily join in. We’ll also look at ideas for backing up others when they’re leading or taking breaks, variations for you to support your own singing, and more. You’ll be ready for any jam or session!
We suggested a $25 donation for workshop attendees and we had a donation jar available at the event (and below if you’d like to donate now), but we want you to be able to enjoy the workshop regardless of your financial circumstances, so please feel free to donate what you’re able to.
And sign up for Evie’s Clawhammer Banjo course on Peghead Nation to keep learning after the workshop!
