Banjolit Dr. Arm

Peghead Nation banjo instructor Wes Corbett demonstrates his favorite armrest.

Banjolit is a Slovakian company that was founded by a pair of bluegrass musicians in 2013. Specializing in various musical instrument accessories, Banjolit has been making a splash with its Dr. Arm armrests, which are available in several sizes and made out of different types of wood, for both banjos and mandolins.

In this video, Peghead Nation instructor Wes Corbett demonstrates a flamed maple Dr. Arm Mini, which he installed on his 1937 Gibson TB-1 conversion. Besides the comfort that comes from the armrest’s bevelled shape, Wes also says that the wood prevents his arm and hand from getting chilled when playing in cooler temperatures. “That’s the worst thing that you can have happen,” he says, “playing cold!” Wes also appreciates that the Dr. Arm is easy to install and comes with all the necessary tools.
