Scroggins and Rose: “Eagle’s Nest”
Congratulations to Tristan Scroggins on winning an IBMA 2017 Momentum Award in the Instrumentalist category. Watch Tristan and Alisa Rose play “Eagle’s Nest.”
Mandolinist and Peghead Nation’s “Monroe Mondays” blogger Tristan Scroggins was named as one of the IBMA’s three 2017 Momentum Award winners in the Instrumentalist category at last week’s World of Bluegrass Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. These awards focus on players, bands, and business people who are in the early stages of their bluegrass-related careers.
Take a look at this video for a sample of Tristan’s talents. He and violinist Alisa Rose recently released their first album of mandolin and violin duets, Grana, which includes six original tunes and seven improvisations on traditional and classical melodies.
Alisa and Tristan stopped by the Peghead Nation shortly before the release of Grana, and played “Eagle’s Nest,” an original tune that Tristan wrote and the duo worked on for the album.
