Molsky’s Mountain Drifters: “Across the Plains of Illinois”
Peghead Nation fiddle and banjo instructor plays and sings a great traditional song with his trio.
Molsky’s Mountain Drifters is Peghead Nation Old-Time Fiddle and Old-Time Banjo instructor Bruce Molsky’s trio with guitarist Stash Wyslouch and banjo player Allison de Groot. In this video from a Peghead Nation studio session, they play the old-time song “Across the Plains of Illinois,” which they recorded on their first album. The song is attributed to Ollie Barnard (1892-1967) of Cave-in-Rock, Illinois.
