Mike Compton, Peghead Nation’s Monroe-Style Mandolin teacher, spent many years playing mandolin with (and driving the bus for) John Hartford, recording a half-dozen albums and touring extensively with the singer-songwriter-banjoist-fiddler-raconteur until Hartford’s death in 2001.
