Joe K. Walsh: “Never More Will Roam”
Peghead Nation mandolin instructor plays his original song, inspired by a late-19th century Arctic explorer. With Brittany Haas on fiddle.
In addition to being one of the most respected mandolin players around, Peghead Nation instructor Joe K. Walsh is a talented and versatile songwriter. In this video, captured by Salt Stage Productions at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival, Joe plays his song ”Never More Will Roam” with Brittany Haas on fiddle, Steve Roy on bass, and Lincoln Meyers on guitar.
Joe wrote the song about Arctic explorer S.A. Andrée, who led an expedition to pilot a hydrogen balloon over the North Pole in 1897, but crashed on the Arctic ice two days into the journey. The song is included on Joe’s latest album, Borderland.
We’re happy to have Joe on board as one of the instructors in our first Peghead Nation Mandolin Camp, October 19 – 22, 2017, at the Kowana Valley Folk School and Lodge. Learn more here!
