We’re very excited to launch a new course, Irish Backup Guitar with Flynn Cohen, on June 1! In his course, Flynn will teach you how to accompany jigs and reels and other traditional Irish dance tunes in the style pioneered by Irish guitar greats Paul Brady, Mícheál Ó Dhomhnaill, and Dáithí Sproule and used at Irish seisiúns. Check out Flynn’s course introduction video on this page, and sign up for email updates about the launch as well.

While Flynn was in the studio recording the first lessons for his course, Peghead Nation Irish Mandolin instructor Marla Fibish stopped by to play melody on some of Flynn’s lessons, and they played a few sets of tunes to warm up. In this video, Marla and Flynn play the Irish reels “Torn Jacket” and “Toss the Feathers.”
