Peghead Nation’s Clawhammer Banjo teacher Evie Ladin released Riding the Roosteran album of fiddle-and-banjo duets with 17 old-time fiddlers, late last year. One of her duet partners is Emily Mann, the Big Sur, California native who performs and records in the duo Paper Wings, as well as the long running roots ensemble the Crooked Jades. In this video, Evie and Emily play the old-time tune “Merriweather” in the Peghead Nation studio.

Evie also just released a new album of her own songs with the Evie Ladin Band, in which she is joined by Keith Terry on bass and body percussion, and Erik Pearson on guitar and other string instruments. The Evie Ladin Band is celebrating the release of Caught On a Wire with a series of shows in early March with Paper Wings, who also have a new album on the way. Be sure to catch Evie and Emily on this tour! Find details at www.evieladin.com.
