Aaron Weinstein: “Tangerine”
Peghead Nation’s Chord Melody Mandolin instructor plays an improvisation on a jazz standard.
When Aaron Weinstein was in the Peghead Nation studio recording lessons for his Chord Melody Mandolin course, he played this great improvisation of the 1940s popular song “Tangerine. With lyrics written by Johnny Mercer and the music written by Victor Schertzinger, the song was introduced in the 1942 film The Fleet’s In, and has been widely recorded and performed since then.
Aaron’s take on this song is a beautiful example of the chord melody style that he teaches in his Chord Melody Mandolin course.
