Peghead Nation fiddle instructor plays in the new house band for the popular radio show, now hosted by mandolin master Chris Thile.

In her Fiddle Styles Workshop for Peghead Nation, Brittany Haas hosts some of the best fiddlers on the planet. And she plays with a few more of the best musicians on the planet in her new radio gig as fiddler in the house band for A Prairie Home Companion, now hosted by mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile.
As this clip from an early December 2016 airing shows, Chris and Brittany are joined in the band by guitarist Chris Eldridge, bass player Paul Kowert, pianist Rich Dworsky, and drummer Ted Poor. Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sarah Jarosz and singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan are regular members of the new PHC band as well.
In this video, Brittany and the band play a blazing fiddle tune medley including ”Say Old Man, Can You Play the Fiddle,“ ”Big Sciota,” and “Little Rabbit” for the live studio audience at the Town Hall in New York City and for A Prairie Home Companion’s radio audience of over 3 million people.
