Peghead Nation banjo instructor Bill Evans put together a bill with our Melodic Mandolin Tunes instructor John Reischman, flapticking master Kenny Smith, fiddler Nate Lee, and bassist Max Schwartz for a short run of shows in Northern California last year. We caught their first date at the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, California, where the all-star band played a great version of Kenny’s tune ”Studebaker.”
