Watkins Family Hour: “Hop High”
Sara and Sean Watkins play a killer version of a traditional favorite.
Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins played a show at HopMonk Tavern Novato, California as part of the KC Turner Presents Summer Cookout Series. in 2022, in support of their album Brother Sister, and Watkins Family Hour, Vol. II, both of which were released last year.
In this clip, they give a knockout performance of the traditional song “Hop High.” It was an audience request, and as they said in the introduction, they hadn’t played it in a while (they had recorded it on the first Watkins Family Hour album). The experiment clearly worked! Super fun to see them remember their parts in real-time and just slay the song.
Catch Sara and Sean on tour with Nickel Creek this year!
