Scott Nygaard: “Where to Now?” | 25th Anniversary of “Dreamer’s Waltz”
Join us as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Peghead Nation co-founder Scott Nygaard’s influential solo album, Wednesday, May 25 on Zoom.
Peghead Nation co-founder Scott Nygaard’s beautiful second solo album, Dreamer’s Waltz, was released 25 years ago, and it has become one of contemporary bluegrass guitar’s seminal works. In this video, Scott plays one of his compositions from that album, “Where to Now?,” with Tristan Clarridge (cello), Simon Chrisman (hammered dulcimer), and Tashina Clarridge (fiddle) at The Back Room in Berkeley a few years ago.
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Dreamer’s Waltz, Peghead Nation guitar instructor Flynn Cohen will interview Scott about the project, diving deep into Scott’s recollections of the creation of the album, which also featured Darol Anger on fiddle, Jerry Douglas on dobro, Tim O’Brien on fiddle and vocals, John Reischman on mandolin, Mark Schatz on bass, Dirk Powell, and many others.
Also joining Flynn and Scott will be Brittany Haas, who will play a tune or two from the album with bassist Paul Kowert. And there will be a few pre-recorded video messages from Scott’s notable collaborators. And two lucky event registrants will win a copy of the Dreamer’s Waltz transcription book, and a selection of Scott Nygaard CDs!
The Celebration of Dreamer’s Waltz will happen Wednesday, May 25, at 5 PM Pacific Time / 8 PM Eastern Time on Zoom. Please click here to register for this free event!
