Bruce Molsky: “Kom Hem” (Come Home)
Bruce Molsky plays a Swedish tune written by Kjell-Erik Eriksson, which Bruce recorded for his new guitar album “Everywhere You Go.”
Peghead Nation’s Old-Time Fiddle and Old-Time Banjo instructor Bruce Molsky is also a wonderful guitarist, and he is releasing a new guitar album, Everywhere You Go, on February 25, 2022, on Tiki Parlour Recordings. In this video, Bruce plays a Swedish tune written by Kjell-Erik Eriksson, called “Kom Hem” (Come Home).
On Everywhere You Go, Bruce dives into intimate and unique arrangements of a wide swath of tunes and songs through his own musical lens, from African, Scandinavian, Scottish, Irish, American; both old and new. The album is mostly Bruce’s introspective and solo exploration of a lifetime of his most loved songs and tunes. You can order the album from Bruce on his website.
About the tune “Kom Hem,” Bruce says: “Ok, I confess I’ve recorded this before, but just wanted to revisit it now that it’s been with me for a while. Every time I play it, it makes me smile and think of getting on stage with the mighty Swedish band Hoven Droven and thrashing away with Kjell- Erik Eriksson on fiddle. The first time was at the epic Nordic Roots Festival in Minneapolis, a gateway to the big spirit of northern European music that’s become a big part of my life.”
