Tune Writing with Mark Simos, Part 3: Mark Teaches “Keeping the Cats Happy” B and C Parts

In the second part of “Keeping the Cats Happy” there are some chordal anticipations that make it sound like there are some extra beats or bars in the tune. Mark teaches the tune phrase by phrase, showing you how to keep in mind where the downbeat is, even when it sounds like the melody is dropping a beat. The third part of the tune is all up in third position, and a little tricky, but Mark breaks it down phrase by phrase and ends by playing the whole tune through with Brittany.
