Laurie Lewis on Songwriting and Fiddling, Part 2
Laurie Lewis on Songwriting and Fiddling, Part 2

Brittany and Laurie play another fiddle-oriented song of Laurie’s, “The Bear Song.” Then Laurie Laurie talks about her fiddle, which was made by Jerome Bonaparte Squier in Boston in 1893. Laurie got it about 15 years ago from Missouri old-time fiddler Geoff Seitz. She also talks about her time running her own violin shop, Marin Violin, and about her new record, a tribute to Hazel and Alice, which includes guest vocalists Linda Ronstadt, Alice Gerrard, and Aoife O’Donovan as well as fiddlers Tatiana Hargreaves and Peghead Nation’s Chad Manning. laurielewis.com
