I've been using D'Addario strings, almost exclusively, for 38 years on my nylon, steel string flattop, arch top, and solid body electrics. They were recommended to me by my first guitar teacher who told me that the strings were "consistent" and that was an important attribute for guitar strings. Years later my "guitar doctor" used the same word, consistent to explain why he always uses D'Addario strings and recommends them to his clients. Once again, an experienced, member of the musical instrument family, Linda Manzer, uses this term as part of her reason for using D'Addario strings, consistent. It may not be sexy, but it's crucial for great tone.
