The Punch Brothers announced that they will be releasing a new album in early 2015 and have added North American tour dates to their tour schedule through April 2015 (see below). No information as of yet on the album's title, but the band did hint at T-Bone Burnett being involved in a post on their website, and they released the song "I Blew it Off" via the YouTube video above, the visuals of which consist of a single still photo of Punch Brothers members Noam Pikelny, Chris Thile, Paul Kowert, Gabe Witcher, and Critter Eldridge staring at their glowing phones. You do get a good sense of the song, though, which adds drums and electric guitar to the Brothers' mix of stringed instruments. Tickets for the North American dates go on sale Friday, November 21.IMG_1097.jpg

This caps off a year when the individual members of the band have been busy with other projects, including Chris Thile's tour with  Edgar Meyer in support of the album Bass and Mandolin that the duo released last summer; Paul Kowert's release and tour with his latest project, Haas Kowert Tice (You Got This, with Peghead Nation's Fiddle Styles Workshop instructor Brittany Haas); and Critter Eldridge playing theaters with his duo partner Julian Lage on the heels of their fall release Avalon. Busy guys who aren't slowing down in 2015.

A great mandolin duet of Sarah Jarosz’s original tune, recorded live at the Marshall Mandolin Summit.
