The sixth annual Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase will be held October 24－26, 2014, at the Bearsville Theater and Utopia Soundstage. The Woodstock Invitational is an intimate gathering for the community of acoustic stringed instrument builders, players, collectors, and aficionados, and has become one of the premier events of its kind in North America.
This year’s exhibitors will include small-shop builders such as Jason Kostal, Michihiro Matsuda, Ken Parker, Tom Ribbecke, and Bruce Sexauer; larger manufacturers, including C.F. Martin and Co. and PRS Guitars; and amplification and accessories specialists such as Fishman, D’Addario, and Hoffee Cases.
In addition to showcasing fine instruments, the event features workshops by players including Paul Asbell, Itamar Eres, Tim Farrell, Cathy Fink, Kinloch Nelson, Happy Traum, Frank Vignola and Vinnie Raniolo, and Peghead Nation instructor Marcy Marxer.
Live music events are scheduled on site, as well as at various local venues (Helsinki Hudson, Woodstock Playhouse, and the Colony Cafe), with performers including David Bromberg, Larry Campbell, Craig D’Andrea, Itamar Eres, Kinloch Nelson, John Sebastian, Macyn Taylor, Happy Traum, and others.
