SBAIC E-Poster.jpgThe 2016 Santa Barbara Acoustic Instrument Celebration is taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2016, bringing together luthiers, professional guitarists, and guitar enthusiasts for a weekend of exhibits, concerts, and workshops.

We're happy to be a sponsor of this inaugural event, and Teja Gerken will be on site representing Peghead Nation as well as teaching a workshop on Saturday called Applying Alternate Tunings. See his video introduction to the workshop above.

Teja is the host of Peghead Nation's Advanced Fingerstyle Workshop, which features 15 of the finest fingerstyle players around, teaching their tunes and signature techniques. Teja's workshop in Santa Barbara, in combination with guitarist Doug Young's class De-mystifying Alternate Tunings, make up the weekend's "Alternate Tunings" package.

Overall, the show will feature 40 professional guitarists performing, demonstrating fine guitars, and teaching Master Classes in fingerstyle, jazz, blues, and more. In addition to Teja, Peghead Nation's Fingerstyle Guitar instructor Stevie Coyle and Celtic Guitar instructor Tony McManus will be on hand, as will Richard Smith, Muriel Anderson, Michael Chapdelaine, Doug Young, and many more.

More than 140 luthiers from around the world will present over 650 fine instruments available for demonstration and for sale. Visitors to the SBAIC will see guitars from Michael Greenfield, Jeff Traugott, Linda Manzer, Michihiro Matsuda, and many other top builders.

Among the weekend's concert highlights will be Muriel Anderson and the Hot Club of Nashville on Saturday night, and Antoine Dufour, Claude LaFlamme, Craig D'Andrea, and Trevor Gordon Hall will close out the weekend on Sunday night.

Plan on taking advantage of this unique opportunity to meet the contemporary masters of lutherie and get to know their fine instruments. Tickets are available for $20 a day or $195 for a Weekend Priority Pass. Please visit the Santa Barbara Acoustic Instrument Celebration website for more information.
