MonMandoCamp.vidcomp.pngThe Monroe Mandolin Camp is hosted by Peghead Nation's Monroe-Style Mandolin instructor Mike Compton and the third annual Camp is scheduled for September 14 – 18, 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee. You now have a chance to win a full scholarship for the five-day Camp full of amazing instruction, concerts, jams, and immersion in the world of traditional bluegrass created by Bill Monroe.

MonManCamp has just announced their video scholarship competition, running through July 13, 2016. To enter, submit your video of you (or another candidate) playing a Bill Monroe composition. The first 25 videos submitted will be judged on authenticity, execution, difficulty, and technique. See the Monroe Mandolin Camp website for instructions on how to submit your video.

The winner will be announced on July 26, and will receive a full scholarship, including tuition, meal plan, lodging, and Camp t-shirt. The winning video will be displayed on MonManCamp’s Facebook page and website.

This year's Camp will be held at Nashville’s Scaritt-Bennett Center, and will again feature dozens of classes each day for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. Mandolin instruction will be presented by Mike Compton, Adam Tanner, Richie Brown, Lauren Price, David Davis, and others, and will include instruction in old-time mandolin in addition to traditional bluegrass.

This year, MonManCamp is also offering a traditional bluegrass banjo track taught by the great Alan O’Bryant. This intimate series of classes is for intermediate players and will focus on the banjo’s place in Bill Monroe's band, Earl Scruggs’ revolutionary style, and more.

Good luck! Learn more at MonoreMandolinCamp.com.
