BruceMolsky.CantStay.scrn.pngEvery February in Seattle, thousands of acoustic musicians and fans gather for the three-day Wintergrass Music Festival, happening this year on February 21 – 24. Peghead Nation will be on hand at the Hyatt Regency to take in the music-packed weekend of old-time, bluegrass, and roots performances, instructional workshops and intensives, and nonstop jamming.

Among the amazing lineup of official Wintergrass performers are two Peghead Nation teachers. Our Old-Time Fiddle and Wade Ward-Style Banjo instructor, Bruce Molsky, will be playing with his trio Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, which includes Allison de Groot on banjo and Stash Wyslouch on guitar.

And our Ukulele instructor Marcy Marxer  will also perform with Cathy Fink on Saturday.

Other acts performing throughout the weekend include Peter Rowan, Billy Strings, Della Mae, Steep Canyon Rangers, Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, Sons of the Pioneers, the Hillbenders, Steep Canyon Rangers, and many others.

Marcy Marxer1.JPGIn addition to the concerts and the opportunities for informal jamming, Wintergrass also features over 80 instrument workshops as well as Wintergrass Intensives, which allow intermediate-to-advanced students to study with some of today's most sought-after instructors and performers.

Marcy Marxer will be teaching a Wintergrass Intensive in ukulele, and other instructors include songwriter Tim Stafford, Della Mae fiddler Kimber Ludiker, guitarist Avril Smith, and others. Watch the Wintergrass website for updates to the lineup.

Peghead Nation is a proud Wintergrass sponsor and we look forward to meeting many of you in Seattle. Make plans to attend Wintergrass!
