San Francisco Bay Area festival includes luthier exhibits, player workshops, and concerts.

The Winters Guitarfest will be returning to the historic Palms Playhouse in Winters California (near Sacramento) on June 29 - 30, 2018. Presented by the ARC Guitar Building School and the Sacramento Guitar Society, the second annual festival will feature luthier exhibits, lectures, player workshops, and concerts.
Peghead Nation co-founder Teja Gerken will be presenting a workshop on Alternate Tunings, and he and guitarist Doug Young will also be co-teaching a class on Fingerstyle Duets. Other player workshops include an Introduction to Flamenco Guitar by Mark Taylor and Gordon Rowland, Getting Started with Fingerpicking by Mark Hanson, Recording Tips and Tricks for Guitarists by Doug Young, and a Music Education workshop by Greta Peterson. Luthier Kenny Hill will be discussing crossover classical guitars, and festival organizer Al Calderone is presenting a session on Building Your First Guitar.
The festival includes two concerts on the opening day, Friday, June 29th: Classical and flamenco experts Mark Taylor and Gordon Rowland will open the festival at 11:00 am, and Teja Gerken, Doug Young, Mark Hanson, and Greta Petersen will present a full evening show on the Palms Playhouse stage.
