The great John Reischman was recently in the Peghead Nation studio recording the first lessons of his mandolin course, which will launch this March. John's course will focus on his original tunes as well as some of his favorite old-time, new acoustic, and roots tunes.
John is one of the most well-respected mandolin players around, tours extensively with his band the Jaybirds, and teaches at many of the most popular workshops and camps offered in the US and Canada.

In the video above, John and Sharon Gilchrist play a duet on “The Road to Malvern” in the lobby of the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, California.
Sharon, John, and Peghead Nation co-founder Scott Nygaard recorded this tune for their new album, The Harmonic Tone Revealers, which was released a few months ago. “The Road to Malvern” was written by fiddler Jim Childress, who named the tune after the town in Arkansas where his wife was raised.
