The Fender Acoustic Custom Shop is introducing a limited-edition Tom Petty signature model. Based on the Kingman dreadnought, the instrument is built according to Petty’s personal style and specs, and bears his signature on the back of the headstock and the soundhole label. The guitar is built with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. It has a neck with a Stratocaster-style headstock and rosewood fingerboard and Fender’s “Viking” bridge. It also includes Fishman VT-2 electronics with controls for volume and tone mounted in the lower bout of the top.
All of Petty's proceeds from each instrument purchase will benefit Heal EB, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to researching, identifying treatment strategies for, and raising awareness of Epidermolysis Bullosa. www.fender.com.
